Sub-jr Sepak Takraw Natls: Odisha in finals

Host Odisha entered finals in both the boys and girls teams events of the 21st Sub-Junior National Sepak Takraw Championship, which is underway at KIIT University here from June 6. In the semifinals today Odisha boys beat Kerala 2-0, while the girls got the better of Bihar 2-1.

Around 300 boys and 250 girls from 25 states joined in the championship, which is being organised by Odisha State Sepak Takraw Association (OSSTA), under the auspices of Sepak Takraw Federation of India (STFI).

The championship, featuring team, regu and doubles events for boys and girls, was inaugurated by Hockey Olympian and OTDC Chairman Dilip Tirkey. Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena , Karanjia MLA Bijay Nayak, STFI secretary general YS Dahiya, OSSTA president Sarada Nayak, secretary Manoj Kumar Patnaik and KIIT University Sports Director Dr Gaganendu Dash.
